Shannon M. Gilbert, M.A.

Project Archaeologist and Faunal Specialist

Ms. Gilbert has nearly 15 years of experience in all phases of archaeological investigation, including fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and technical report writing. She has a strong background in zoological sciences, and her specialty within archaeology is vertebrate faunal analysis, with additional experience in human osteology. As a Project Archaeologist, Ms. Gilbert has been supervising field crews during surveys, significance evaluations, and data recovery programs.

She is responsible for developing research designs, coordinating fieldwork, supervising laboratory operations, and interpreting and synthesizing data in technical reports ranging from small surveys to large-scale data recovery projects.
